[updated 25.June 2022]
Corpus Christi, (Latin, Body of Christ), festival of the Catholic Church honours the real presence of Christ in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. Established by Pope Urban IV in 1264, the feast falls on the first Sunday after Trinity.
The Doncaster Deanery holds an annual ‘Corpus Christi Procession’ through the City on the afternoon on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.
On 23rd June 2019 we had a wonderful Corpus Christi Procession. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a tremendous occasion. Many people worked hard behind the scenes, with music, flowers, teas, stewarding, setting things up as well as other jobs. Thank you to all who gave their time and energy. There was a wonderful representation from the Polish Community. It was also great to see the Parishes from around the Doncaster Deanery represented.
Due to the ongoing covid19 situation the processions of 2020, 21 and 22 have sadly had to be cancelled.
