The Ordination Mass of Henry Woodhouse, one of our own parishioners, took take place on Saturday 9th July 2022. Following the service refreshments were provided to the congregation, in the Parish Hall. This was a wonderful and memorable occasion for us all to celebrate. What was even more special and unique was that Bishop Ralph celebrated Henry’s Ordination here at St Peter’s, rather than at St Marie’s Cathedral, which is the Diocesean tradition.
For several weeks prior to the event parishioners busied themselves in making preparations to ensure this would truely be a day to remember. We anticipated a large crowd would be in attendance, with many travelling fromfar and wider.
As a Parish we decided to pray five decades of the Rosary each day of the month leading up to Henry’s ordination and during the month following. This began on Thursday, 9th June. The intention is that a different family/ parishioner will pray for him each day. On Fridays the prayers will be said in the Church at 11.30am. For people who live locally a ‘signing-in’ sheet, to join the prayer rota is on the wall in the Sacristy. There are still some days remaining that need to be filled. Please, even if you haven’t signed –in pray for him. More than anything else he needs our prayers as he begins his life as a Priest, we ask everyone to join us in that endevour.
